Our history
Malmsten AB was founded 1974 by Tommy and Margareta Malmsten. With his roots in competitive swimming, both as an active swimmer and as a Swedish national coach, Tommy had a good intuition for products needed in the swimming industry. The company really started around the kitchen table, where the whole family was involved in assembling swimming goggles, one of our first successful products.
In 1975, the product range was expanded and the Malmsten racing lane lines were manufactured in Hörby, Sweden. The first few years, Tommy and Margareta managed the assembling, sales and all administration by themselves and the inventory as well as the office was located in their home.
Now our broad product range covers almost everything needed for construction, renovation or managing a swimming pool. Malmsten is both a manufacturing as well as a trading company. Most products that we manufacture are done locally or in the vicinity.
In Sweden our customers are municipalities, construction companies, swimming pools and swimming clubs. About fifty percent of our total turnover comes from export sales.
Our prestige product is still the Malmsten racing lane lines, which often are seen in swimming pools during the major international swimming competitions such as the Olympic Games, World and European Championships.
Another Malmsten product with international success is the Swedish Goggles which have been used since the 1970's by the best elite swimmers worldwide.
Malmsten is proud Official Supplier for FINA (the International Swimming Federation*) since 2009 and Proud Official Supplier for LEN (the European association responsible for Aquatics* since 1999.
Malmsten has over 30 years of experience distributing Duraflex products. We share the same commitment to bringing excellent competition equipment to the aquatic elite.

A vision turned into a legacy
Malmsten with a passion for diving has been selling, installing and servicing Duraflex products since the 1980s. We are committing to service all of Europe, Africa, Middle East and parts of Asia. A vision turned into a legacy
Today, Duraflex has transformed into an industry production leader. We are challenged to design higher, faster, stronger products to meet athletes’ desires to do more. Duraflex continues to make large investments in CAM (Computer-Aided Manufacturing) equipment. From the CNC router to the robotic paint booth, Duraflex is utilizing the most sophisticated manufacturing equipment available today.
The Duraflex Plant has undergone a transformation from the equipment developed by Ray Rude, to the most refined equipment needed for precision manufacturing. All of this improvement is designed to create Duraflex boards and stands that will generate the additional lift and energy needed for today’s high degree of difficulty dives.
As a result of our commitment to provide the Diving World with the best elite performance equipment possible today and in the future, the diving boards and stands that we ship are made to exact specifications. While Mr. Rude might not recognize his manufacturing facility today, we know he would be proud with the results.

Malmsten AB's title of ownership: The goods remain Malmsten AB's property until the buyer is paid full payment. The buyer does not own the right to hand over the goods or otherwise dispose of the goods before paying full payment to Malmsten AB.
